General Information

  • Fishing from dawn till dusk does not require booking.

  • Night fishing must be pre-booked (details below).

  • No bait boats.

  • No fishing off the dam wall.

  • Fishing only from numbered pegs.

Serpentine Pool Rules

  1. Permits must be shown on request to bailiffs.

  2. Closed season: 15th March – 15th June (inclusive).

  3. Fishing from numbered pegs only; no fishing off the dam wall.

  4. Up to 3 rods may be used (must hold correct rod licence).

  5. No bait to be used directly from tins/cans.

  6. No alcohol or drugs permitted at the pool.

  7. Prohibited baits: bloodworm, tiger nuts, kidney beans, peanuts.

  8. Barbless hooks are strongly recommended.

  9. Carp and pike must not be retained in any type of net or sack.

  10. An unhooking mat must be used for specimen fish.

  11. No camping on the park grounds. Tents are not allowed, but fishing bivvies are permitted at the poolside.

  12. Night fishing: must be pre-booked by members of either club. Contact Bailiff Paul Hammond with your name, club, and dates.

  13. Members who attend work parties may receive preference on opening day. Contact bailiffs for work party dates.

⚠️ Members who break rules may be disciplined by their club. Rules may be updated at any time and will be posted on websites or noticeboards. Please report any issues to club officials.

Fishing can be challenging at the moment due to the presence of weeds and lilies. We recommend taking some time to clear a spot for yourself using a rake, and you'll increase your chances of a great catch. Rest assured, we are actively working on a solution to improve the conditions.
